Discussion on Sunday, December 11
The first thing to know about children in worship at St. James’ is that children are WELCOME! We grown-ups always need to be mindful that Jesus said about a little child, “Whoever welcomes this child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.”
So we are delighted to welcome children in the church for Eucharist, for HeARTS for God, for the Sunday School Singers and the School choir, and just sitting in the pew with their families.
But are we doing our part in making our services accessible to children?
We think we can do better. We are contemplating developing a family service and we need your input.
To that end Rev. Jen and I would like to have a conversation with parents (and children too!) on Sunday December 11, both before (9:30 to 10:15) and after (Noon to 12:45) the 10:30 service in the Parish Hall. Come join us for coffee, juice and goodies and let us explore some new ways to welcome Jesus!
