Plan to attend a special Pentecost quiet day, titled “Listening to Your Life”, here at St. James’ in the City, led by The Episcopal Church’s 25th Presiding Bishop Frank Griswold and longtime poet-writer colleague Barbara Braver on Saturday, June 3rd, from 9:30am to 3:00pm.
The quiet day is set to open with coffee and conversation at 9:30am with the program beginning at 10:00am Lunch will be served. A free-will contribution of $10 toward lunch will be appreciated, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
It is strongly recommended that you RSVP to Lauren Azeltine, email: email@example.com, or call 213-388-3417, x102. There have already been several reservations made by people outside of the parish.
Pentecost Sunday – June 4
Bishop Griswold is also scheduled to celebrate The Feast of Pentecost at both the 8am and 10:30am services. Our Korean congregation will join the 10:30am service.
It’s been a few years since we fully celebrated our cultural diversity in observance of the Feast of Pentecost. Plan to bring your favorite dish (serves 10-12) which reflects your cultural heritage for a pot-luck lunch immediately after the 10:30am service.
If you have traditional dress of your cultural heritage, please wear it to church! It will make our group photo with Bishop Griswold all the more colorful!
