One of the last stained glass windows to be installed in our church by Judson Studios includes a panel commemorating our choir’s first performance at Westminster Abbey in August of 1999. Twenty years hence and three tours of Great Britain under our belt, the Choir of Saint James begins a 10-day tour of Ireland singing for Holy Eucharist at Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, on Sunday July 21. Following that, the choir travels to Tullamore to sing an evening concert at the Church of the Assumption on July 23 and to the city of Cork on July 25 to sing a concert at St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral. The tour ends in the charming coastal city of Galway during their famed Arts Festival, singing at St. Nicholas Collegiate Church for a concert on July 27 and Holy Eucharist on July 28.
Parishioners and friends are invited to follow the choir’s tour by visiting our blog at STJLA.org/tour.
Various members of the choir, along with Mother Kate, will share experiences and photos of our amazing journey in a country steeped in Celtic and Christian spirituality.
