Welcome to fall at St. James’ in-the-City! I am looking forward to so many good things: the delight of helping teach fifth grade religion at St. James’ School and working with students in our food pantry; having the young adult YAPGES group over to dinner this Sunday night; serving alongside a truly dynamic vestry and excellent wardens Cathy Helm and Adaobi Obijiaku; hosting the upcoming Stewardship Breakfast, a chance to open ourselves to God’s plan; the annual Animal Blessing on October 6th, complete with a pet fair hosted by our Scouts; and last but not least — LACMA Sundays Live!
How thrilling that, beginning at 6pm the evening of Sunday, September 29th, we will host a weekly professional concert here at St. James’. That’s right — every Sunday evening! And of course Great Music at Saint James will also continue to offer Evensong and the International Laureates Organ series on 2nd Sundays, October through May. So many opportunities to show friends and newcomers alike a warm St. James’ welcome. Tell everyone you know, and bring guests. We are blessed in so many ways. Here’s to an amazing fall.
Peace and blessings,
