Although we may miss gathering together at St. James on our beloved corner in the city for a service, hugging our friends at coffee hour, and even meeting one another for a conversation or sharing a meal, the idea of community is still happening. The 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙚𝙨.
Just these past weeks, we have seen each other in a live chat during 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬, learned 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 from Bishop Frank, celebrated the Eucharist with Fr. Jon and his husband, Alex — Fr. Kim leading our Korean family in 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, joined in a deep exercise of 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 with our friend Omar, shared our thoughts and responses among this crisis in 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗲, and even 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝘆𝗺𝗻𝘀 together with Canon Buonemani and Associate, Tom Mueller at the console.
During this time of 𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 and 𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚, it is important to build and nurture 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔.
Be sure to tune in, like, post, and share your experiences. 🤳
We’ve also set up a dedicated page on our site for best ways you can #StayConnected with the family at St. James, including many things you can listen to, read, and watch at stjla.org/stream.
