St. James School House
This Week's Service
Each week, we are offering a simple family-style service for you and your family to follow together at home. We hope these resources will help you find time to worship together at whatever time and in whatever way feels most comfortable and authentic for you. The service has five parts Gather, Reading, Reflection, Prayer, and Activity.
Gather the members of your household who plan to participate in one place. Decide who will lead the household in worship today. You may choose to sit in a circle, sit at a table together, or sit on the floor, but make sure you are comfortable. Take some deep calming breaths and prepare your bodies for worship.
Leader: This is the day that God has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Leader: Gracious God, we thank you for bringing our household together to thank and worship you. Let us play, pray and learn about you together. Help us to remember that you love all of us always.

Please feel free to name things aloud, or silently, in the pauses.
Leader: Let’s join together in prayer, either out loud or quietly.
Leader: Let us take a moment to tell God “thank you” for all the good things that happen in our lives. What are the special things we are grateful for?”
Pause to allow everyone gathered to name things they are grateful for aloud
Leader: We say “Thank you so much, God”
All: Thank you so much God.
Leader: Let us pray for those people or animals who are sick or who have died.
Pause to allow everyone gathered to name those people or animals
Leader: We say, “God is with them.”
All: God is with them.
Leader: Let us pray for people or situations that concern or worry us.
Pause to allow everyone gathered to name their worries
Leader: We say, “Help us God, we trust in you”
All: Help us God, we trust in you.
All together pray The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
The design for this service comes to us from our friends at The Parish of St. Matthew in Pacific Pallisades, and we thank them for sharing it with us.
