The Choir of Saint James leads Solemn Eucharist on Sundays at 10:30am. Eucharist is the principal service of the church. The choir sings much of the music, including a setting of the mass and anthems, and the congregation sings hymns with the choir. The Eucharist is the center of our worship life at St. James.

The Choir of Saint James leads Solemn Evensong on the second Sunday of each month at 4:15pm. The service of Evensong is from the Book of Common Prayer and dates from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It is part of the ceaseless worship of the church offered to God day and night in every part of the world. The choir sings the whole service, offering praise to God on behalf of the congregation. The service is followed by a reception and organ recital, which starts at 6pm. Please see the schedule that follows for details of the 2026–2027 season.

The Choir of St. James often sings concerts featuring major works of the choral repertoire. In May 2027, the choir will offer works of J.S. Bach. Past concerts include the Requiems of Maurice Duruflé, Gabriel Fauré, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Giuseppe Verdi, the Chichester Psalms by Bernstein, Lux Aeterna by Morten Lauridsen, and many others. The Sunday afternoon series of musical offerings is known collectively as Great Music at St. James.
